Welcome to The Quiet Cup - a place to have 'a piece in peace', we hope to spread the messages of Fairtrade and racial equality in Aberdeen, extending Aberdeen’s deserved record for making the extra effort.

GREC is the organisation behind the cafe and our team of volunteers and helpers are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds, from Taiwan to Torry. And they are all keen to give their bit for good relations, development, and respect.

GREC is the main organisation in the voluntary sector responsible for combating racism in NE Scotland and has been active since the mid 1980s. GREC is working towards a just society which gives everyone an equal chance to learn, work and live free from discrimination and prejudice and from the fear of racial harassment and violence.

GREC’s services include: support to individuals experiencing racial harassment or discrimination; equality & diversity issues; workplace mediation & conflict resolution; enhancing employability skills through the Upward Steps Project; interpreting and translation; graphic design; resource library.
